I got Boyfriend an ice cream maker for his birthday. I genuinely imagined he would be making ice cream with it. As it turns out, it was really a gift for myself. But he doesn't mind - he gets to eat the results.
All the recipes in this blog make a suitable quantity for a Magimix Le Glacier 1.1 (i.e. an ice cream maker with a 1.1l capacity).
If you don't have an ice cream maker, don't make ice cream. I know you think you can bugger about with putting it in a Tupperware and molesting it with a fork and putting it back in the freezer every two hours for a fortnight. But you know what? Life's too short, and your ice cream will be rubbish. Treat yourself to an ice cream maker. They cost less than fifty pounds from the lovely people at John Lewis. If that sounds like a lot of money, you're probably a bit tight-fisted. I can't fix that.
